Thank you for reaching out to the Alaska Native Justice Center for assistance with an Employment-Based Variance. While we are no longer directly assisting individuals with the application process, below is information on how you can prepare your Variance Application.
Please note that you need an unexpired Notice of Barring Conditions for the Employer you intend to work for to be able to apply for the Variance. As soon as the Notice of Barring Conditions has been issued you have 90 days to submit your application. If you are unsure if you have a current Notice of Barring Conditions, please contact the Department of Health, Background Check Program at 907-334-4475, or email at doh.bcp.info@alaska.gov.

Personal Statement (See Attached Sample)
At least 2 Letters of Recommendation
Résumé
Treatment Records, if applicable
Job Description and/or Hire Letter or Offer of Employment, if applicable
Copies of all Criminal/Civil/OCS Records as applicable *Required- Records for barrier crime/condition as well as all criminal records
Certificates for Licensing or to meet the conditions of the barrier, if applicable
