On June 17, join ANJC and guest presenter Eric Vang for a webinar on the different methods available to tribal courts to enforce orders in civil cases. Mr. Vang is the senior attorney for Tribal Court Development at the Alaska Legal Services Corporation.
Tribes have governed their communities and people from time immemorial. Today, Tribes throughout Alaska continue to utilize tribal courts to serve their communities in areas of family matters, public safety, and protective orders. Many Tribes wrestle with questions around enforcement of tribal court orders. This presentation is intended to help tribal courts and tribal councils address community needs by enforcing their orders while navigating jurisdictional boundaries and the application of tribal law to non-Native community members.
