Youth Development

ANJC assists youth to improve educational and social outcomes. We work with families to navigate and obtain the resources needed to overcome challenges, achieve goals and improve life skills such as leadership, self-confidence and communication.

ANJC Youth Advocates provide case management for youth and their families who are in need of cultural, educational, social and economic support.


We provide help navigating systems, intense case management and referrals to services.

  • Referrals to services for youth and families:
    • Housing
    • Health care
    • Behavioral health care
    • Recovery services for substance misuse
    • Employment
    • Legal service providers

ANJC serves youth with education, reentry, and preventative services. We provide mentoring, coaching, and advocacy for youth who need assistance navigating the criminal justice system.

Who is eligibile
Youth ages 6-18 who are enrolled in Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Alaska
Service area
Anchorage, Mat-Su, Fairbanks and Juneau
